Abstract
The Coronavirus disease pandemic (COVID-19) has disrupted the educational system in which face-to-face classes for all academic levels were suspended. It has brought far-reaching changes in all aspects of our lives. Online distance learning presented many new adjustments for public and private junior and senior high school teachers and likely presented complex challenges with online classes. This study explores the Challenges of the Public and Private school teachers on The Use of Online Learning Modalities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sample of the study comprised 30 public school teachers and 30 private school teachers, either junior and senior high school teachers in Dasmariñas City, Cavite. The following were the study’s findings: (1) The demographic profile of public and private school teachers determined their opinions and experiences with Online Teaching. (2) Most public and private teachers are significantly challenged by their External Environment, Knowledge on the Use of Online Platforms, and Availability of Resources. (3) There is no significant difference in the challenges encountered by the public and private junior and senior high school teachers on the use of online learning modalities.
