Antimicrobial properties of the leaves of Fragaria x ananassa (strawberry) stolons against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli
Abstract
This study is focused mainly on the detection whether the extract from the strawberry leaves are effective against gram negative and positive bacteria. The analysis, extraction from the strawberry leaves and the experiment itself were done within De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. This study mainly focused on eliminating and the time effectiveness of the extract towards Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. The bacterial strains would be purchased in Angelo King Medical Research Center. The extract from the strawberry leaves were extracted using the Rotary Evaporator and tested using the Kirby-Bauer Method.
