Abstract

This study will focus on the evaluation and determination of the potential anti-angiogenic properties of S. officinalis (Sage) ethanolic leaf extract through the analysis of its significant effects on the duck embryo Chorioallantoic Membrane (CAM) Assay. S. officinalis (Sage) plants will be collected from FTI Market in Taguig City and be subjected to plant (leaf) extraction. The vasculature of the duck embryos will be treated with 3 different concentration levels (100ppm, 200 ppm and 300ppm), a negative control making use of distilled water and a positive control utilizing Vitamin A in the form of retinoic acid. A total of forty (40) duck eggs will be the test subjects for the different treatments conducted. This study solely aims to evaluate whether S. officinalis ethanolic leaf extract possesses anti-angiogenic properties.
