Abstract
This study used cross sectional type of research design. Three hundred sixty six (366) students were gathered and have been selected using stratified random sampling. Self-administered questionnaires were used to gather information. Chi-square test was utilized for data analysis. The study had shown that there were 41 respondents (12.39%) with depression, and 290 respondents (87.61%) without depression. Among the 223 respondents that stated they were religious persons, 21 respondents (9.42%) were considered depressed which showed a significant relationship where the prevalence ratio yielded was 0.509 with a 95% confidence interval of 0.288-0.897. All the other factors like age, gender, family structure, family income and year level had not shown an increase in prevalence of depression.
