Abstract
A cross sectional study design was used. There were 230 regular first year medical students enrolled during the second semester of the A.Y. 2013-2014 were included using total enumeration sampling method. Each student was requested to fill-up two (2) sets of questionnaires: a survey form and the Medical Student Stressor Questionnaire (MSSQ). Data was analyzed through Chi-square test. The study concluded that there was no sufficient evidence to conclude that there is a relationship between the types of smokers and the intensities of the six domains of stress among the first year medical students.
