Abstract
This research used the descriptive method employing the survey technique. Quota sampling technique was utilized to select the 373 respondents. The survey technique was accomplished using self-made questionnaire validated by experts from De La Salle Health Sciences Institute and De La Salle University Medical Center. Statistical measures were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and ANOVA. Results showed that, (1) most of the respondents are 33 to 44 years old, high school graduates and have one (1) to three (3) children; (2) the respondents are fully aware on the positive effects of breastfeeding; (3) the mothers in selected barangays in Trece Martires City have significant differences on the level of awareness of the positive effects of breastfeeding when they are grouped to age and educational attainment. On the other hand, no significant differences on the level of awareness of the positive effects of breastfeeding is observed when they are grouped by educational attainment.
