Abstract
This study was conducted to assess relevant communication skills in general radiography among radiologic technology interns at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute during the academic year 2024-2025. This study utilized a descriptive research design. Total enumeration sampling was used to determine the respondents. A self developed questionnaire was used to collect the data for the study. The statistical treatments used to interpret results for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the independent t-test. The findings of the study found that the majority of respondents are female and are assigned to government hospitals rather than private hospitals. Overall, the interns’ communication skills were interpreted as Highly Relevant, with both verbal and nonverbal communication being consistently and effectively applied in clinical practice. Comparative analysis indicated no statistically significant difference in communication skills based on the type of hospital assignment. However, the study identified a significant difference in communication skills when analyzed by sex, with female respondents demonstrating distinct patterns in skill application. This research provides a foundational understanding for curriculum enhancement and clinical training programs, ensuring that future radiologic technologists are well-equipped to handle the communicative demands of patient care in diverse healthcare settings.
