Abstract

A qualitative descriptive design with snowball sampling as the sampling method was used. The data were accumulated through in-depth online interviews via ZOOM Cloud Meetings application. With a population of 58 radiologic technology interns, 9 participants were the sample size. The formulation of meanings and extraction of significant statements, the researchers analyzed the participants' intonations, emotions, delivery of words, punctuations, volume of their voice and their speech delivery. The researchers search for underlying ideas and concepts that could answer the objectives of the research. The results gathered from the statements of the participants suggested four themes and seven subthemes which are (1) Moving about the Digital World which is about the participants’ concerns towards online mentoring; (2) Learning in the Cyber World, their perceptions on learning during online mentoring; (3) Detachment from a Highly Connected World, their realizations after undergoing both hospital internship and online mentoring; and, (4) Continuous Learning in a Halted World, the measures done by the College of Medical Imaging and Therapy for the interns to finish their internship on time. Moreover, this study concludes that the experiences of interns during the transition from hospital internship to online mentoring is not an easy process. The interns adapted to constant adjustments in terms of implementations and dissemination of activities suitable to the situation. Furthermore, the interns completed their internship on time with the help of the institution and the college through online mentoring. Finally, following are recommended based on the results of the study: improvement of communication, online simulations, moderation of deadlines and activities, and additional learning platforms.
