Abstract
This study used descriptive documentary method. There were 65 respondents representing the total population of third and fourth year students. Data was gathered through documentary analysis using survey questionnaire and results of the respondents’ academic grade during the first semester. Statistical tools utilized were mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, and Pearson product-moment correlation. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents were female; 2) The top four (4) behavioral problems were absenteeism, tardiness, dating and shyness. Shyness was the top behavioral problem that affected the academic performance; 3) The academic performance of the respondents had a mean of 83.96, which was described as satisfactory. Respondents were heterogeneous in terms of academic performance; 4) There were no significant differences in the behavioral problems when the respondents are grouped according to gender and year level; 5) There were no significant differences in the academic performance when the respondents are grouped according to gender and year level; 6) There was no relationship between behavioral problems and academic performance.
