Abstract

This study utilized the quantitative, non-experimental descriptive survey method involving 680 respondents, using quota sampling technique. Consent forms were given to the residents who were 18 years old and above. After asking the respondents of their participation in the study, a self-made questionnaire based from the ordinances regarding waste segregation was distributed to the respondents. Percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA were utilized for data analysis. Based on the results, 1) the over-all effectiveness of policy implementation on waste segregation, as evaluated by selected residents of Tagaytay City, is limited in its effectiveness; 2) educational attainment and civil status provided no significant differences on the evaluation of the selected residents on the effectiveness of policy implementation on waste segregation; 3) respondents who belong to 18-36 age group have the highest evaluation on the effectiveness of policy implementation on waste segregation; 4) females have higher evaluation on the effectiveness of policy implementation on waste segregation compared to males; 5) respondents who live in the city for 21-40 years have the highest evaluation on the effectiveness of policy implementation on waste segregation.
