Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out if self-evaluation and interns' evaluation are related to the administrators' evaluation of Radiologic/X-ray technologists' compliance to Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-ray Technologists' in DLSU-Aguinaldo from different affiliate hospitals in Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to: (1) Find out the technologists level of compliance to Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-ray Technologists from DLSU-Aguinaldo affiliate hospitals in Cavite based on 10 self-evaluation, 2) interns' evaluation 3) administrators' evaluation; (2) Determine the differences in the technologists level of compliance to Code of Ethics for Rdiologic/X-ray Technologists according to age, sex, educational attainment, and work experience of technologists base on interns' evaluation, self evaluation and administrators'/supervisors' evaluation; (3) Determine the correlation between interns evaluation and administrators'/supervisors' evaluation of technologists' compliance to Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-Ray Technologists; (4) Determine the correlation between self-evaluation and administrators'/supervisors' evaluation of technologists' compliance to Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-ray Technologists, and (5) Determine the weighted linier combination of interns' evaluation and self-evaluation and administrators'/supervisors' evaluation of technologists' compliance to Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-ray Technologists. A rating scale which was developed by the researcher was used to gather data from the respondents of the study who were composed of 17 technologists from 5 DLSU-Aguinaldo affiliate hospitals in Cavite, 38 interns from DLSU-Aguinaldo College of Radiologic technology, and 5 administrators/supervisors from these hospitals. The t-test was used in comparing the level of compliance to Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-ray Technologists according to sex, age and educational attainment. The F-test was used in comparing the level of compliance to Code of Ethics for Rdiologic/ X-ray Technologist according to work experience. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to determine the correlation between interns' evaluation and administrators'/supervisors' evaluation.Multiple Correlation was used to determine the correlation between the weighted linear combination of interns' evaluation and self-evaluation over administrators'/supervisors' evaluation. In the light of the above findings the following conclusion were drawn : (1) The technologists themselves and their administrators/supervisors concurred on the very high compliance of the former to the Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-ray Technologists. However, the interns gave them a lower rating which is moderately high compliance. On one hand, this maybe because the interns have not fully grasped the meaning of each provision in this newly formulated Code of Ethics. On the other hand, this maybe because the interns have more time being with the technologists and therefore, they were the once who had seen very well the behavior of the technologists. (2) The 3 evaluation showed that the technologists whether male or female, younger or older, new or old in the service, and whether they finished ART or BSRT they had the same level of compliance to Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-ray Technologists. (3) Self evaluation is a predictor of administrators'/supervisors' evaluation of technologists compliance to Code of Ethics for Radiologic/X-ray Technologists. Interns' evaluation could not predict administrator' /supervisors' evaluation.
