Abstract

The study used the descriptive method. The respondents were 4th year high school students of the first district of Cavite chosen using cluster random sampling. The research instrument was adapted from the study of Herrera and Fauni (2010). Data was analyzed through frequency, ANOVA, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test for independent samples. The following conclusions were drawn: 1) Most of the respondents were female, studied in public schools, had a monthly family income of P10,000 and below, and had no family member working in a hospital; 2) The knowledge of 4th year high school students regarding diagnostic and therapeutic applications of radiation was good; 3) Gender was not significant in determining the knowledge of 4th year high school students regarding the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of radiation. Type of school, socio-economic status and family background were significantly associated with the knowledge of the respondents in general.
