Abstract

This study used the descriptive method of research. There were 50 students chosen as respondents using convenience sampling. This research used a questionnaire based on the study of Borbon and Toledo (2006) to gather the needed data. Data was analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, T-test of independent means and ANOVA of F-test. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were obtained: (1) Majority of the respondents were females and have family income of more than P30, 000; (2) The respondents consider the problems encountered in writing Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, problems with the adviser, thesis partner, mechanics, format and style, financial support and colloquium as moderately difficult; (3) The degree of difficulty encountered by the respondents in thesis writing had no significant difference when grouped by gender. Male and female respondents have the same degree of difficulty encountered in thesis writing; (4) The degree of difficulty encountered by the respondents in thesis writing had no significant difference when grouped by monthly family income. Respondents with different family income have the same degree of difficulty encountered in thesis writing.
