Abstract

The study used the descriptive method. There were 350 respondents composed of 322 students (92%) and 28 faculty members (8%) computed using Slovin’s formula and they were selected using convenience sampling. The researchers formulated a self-made questionnaire to measure the level of awareness of the selected faculty members and students on the disaster management program of De La Salle-Health Sciences Campus. Data was computed using mean, frequency, percentage, F-test or ANOVA, T-test and Slovin’s Formula. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn: (1) Majority of the respondents are 17 to 26 years old, female and students; (2) The selected students and faculty members of DLS-HSC have limited level of awareness on the disaster management program; (3) Respondents in the age group of 37 to 46 have the highest level of awareness on the disaster management program followed by the age group of 27 to 36 years old while the youngest group got the lowest level of awareness; (4) Male respondents have higher level of awareness than female respondents; (5) The selected faculty respondents have the higher level of awareness on the disaster management program, followed by the second year students and third year students. The group of first year students got the lowest level of awareness.
