Abstract

This research study utilized a descriptive-correlational method. A total of 36 respondents were included and they were selected using convenience sampling. The researchers used a self-made questionnaire. Statistical tools employed in analyzing data were percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, T-test of independent means and Pearson product moment of correlation. From the findings, the following conclusions were drawn: (1) There are more female respondents than males. Majority of the respondents attained elementary level of education and single; (2) The respondents have a strong quality of life despite being institutionalized; (3) The respondents agree that they have high level of hope despite being institutionalized; (4) There are no significant differences in the quality of life of the respondents when they are grouped according to age, gender, civil status and educational attainment; (5) There are no significant differences in the level of hope of the respondents when they are grouped according to gender, civil status and educational attainment; (6) There is a strong relationship in the quality of life and level of hope of the respondents. A high level of hope will give high quality of life.
