Abstract

This study used the descriptive method. Respondents involved 51 patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) in different dialysis centers in Cavite chosen through incidental sampling method where the patients who were available at the time of data gathering were invited as respondents of the study. The Herth Hope Scale was adapted to measure the level of hope of patients with CRF. The statistical treatments used were frequency, mean, percentage, standard deviation, and t-test. On the basis of family findings, the following conclusions were obtained: (1) Majority of the respondents were above 40 years old, female, married, and have a moderate level of hope; (2) Patients with chronic renal failure have moderate level of hope; (3) There were no significant differences in level of hope of patients with chronic renal failure when they are grouped according to age, gender and monthly family income; (4) There was a significant difference in level of hope of patients with chronic renal failure when they are grouped by civil status.
