Abstract

The study employed correlation research design. The respondents were chosen to 413 outpatients who underwent x-ray examination from selected hospitals in Cavite using purposive sampling. The research instrument used was a self-made questionnaire. The data gathered were treated using the following statistical tools; fequency distribution, percentage, mean, independent sample t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) and Pearson Product Moment-Correlation. Based on the findings, the following are concluded, 1) majority of the respondents are female, with the most number belonging to age group 21 to 30 years old and monthly family income of Php10,001 to Php40,000. Most of the respondents are Catholic; 2) there is very high quality patient care in the radiology department in terms of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibles. The overall quality of patient care is interpreted as very high; 3) there is very high patient satisfaction in the radiology department; 4) the overall quality of patient care in terms of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibles do not significantly differ according to age. The overall quality of patient care shows no significant difference when grouped according to gender. The overall quality of patient care shows no significant difference in terms of religion. The overall quality of patient care shows no significant difference when grouped according to monthly family income; 5) the level of satisfaction of patients has no significant difference when grouped according to gender, religion, and monthly family income. There is a significant difference in the level of patients satisfaction when grouped according to age. Respondents belonging to age group 61 years old and above and 21 to 30 has significantly higher patient satisfaction compared to ages 31 to 40, 41 to 50, and 51 to 60; 6) there is significantly very high positive relationship between quality of care received by the respondents and their patient satisfaction. An increase in the quality of care received by patients meant an increase in the patient satisfaction.
