Abstract

The researchers would like to describe the level of awareness, attitude and perceived barriers of physiotherapists towards Evidence Based ACL Preventive Guidelines. Quantitative descriptive study using a cross-sectional survey a pilot testing of a survey questionnaire was issued to 16 licensed physical therapists. No complications were found during this event, distribution of the links to the survey was commenced through sending emails to various physical therapy clinics and associations and postings on different physical therapy affiliated groups for physiotherapists to answer. The participants were given a one-week time period to answer the respective survey. Follow-ups on emails and postings were done every 2 days until the time of the deadline, issued to the participants as a reminder for the completion of the survey itself. After one week upon the distribution of the questionnaire, the survey was closed, and the results were encoded for analysis Based on the results of the study, the researchers have concluded that Filipino physical therapists have moderate awareness towards evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in ACL prevention. This study has also shown that respondents have good attitudes due to the received positive responses towards these guidelines in ACL prevention. Lastly, the Filipino physical therapists experience common barriers, particularly, lack of awareness, familiarity, and accessibility towards the ACL preventive guidelines.
