Abstract
Research Summary: The purpose of this study is to determine the level of ergonomic risks of DLSMHSI-CRS Physical Therapy faculty members during the implementation of online teaching in A.Y. 2021-2022. This study involved both clinical and non-clinical instructors of the department of Physical Therapy, and utilized a descriptive survey method, which allowed the researchers to analyze and examine data. The questionnaire is a self-made tool that will determine the sociodemographic profiling of DLSMHSI-CRS physical therapy faculty members, level of ergonomic risks of DLSMHSI-CRS physical therapy faculty members as to workstation and work posture and describe the level of ergonomic risks of DLSMHSI-CRS physical therapy faculty members when subjects are grouped according to age, gender, and presence of physical impairment. Due to the current situation and its limitations, this took place online.
Results and Discussions: The results of the study show that majority of the participants are under the millennials age group. There are more females than males and majority do not have any physical impairments. As to the level of ergonomic risk in terns of workstation, most of the respondents are predisposed to a medium level of risk. The work behavior of the participants show that they are at a high level of ergonomic risk and in terms of their work posture, majority of the participants are deemed to be at a low level of risk. Overall, majority of the participants are observed to be under medium level of ergonomic risk.
Conclusion: The study revealed that the DLSMHSI-CRS physical therapy faculty members have medium level of risk in acquiring musculoskeletal complaint which would indicate a moderate change in the workstation according to the highest score/s per section. Most of the respondents are females who are deemed to be predisposed to a medium level of ergonomic risk and the males to a low ergonomic risk level. It is concluded that the highest aspect that influences the level of risk among the respondents are their work behavior, workstation, and working posture.
