Abstract

This study used experimental design to discuss the effectivity of garlic and Hot Moist Pack (HMP) to relieve pain in Osteoarthritis. There was researches and interviews made regarding the topic of the study. Moreover, to determine which was more effective with a patient between garlic and Hot Moist Pack (HMP) upon the diagnosis of the doctors with Osteoarthritis. The patients underwent the said experimentation for one week with 20 minutes duration, for both garlic and Hot Moist Pack (HMP). After the said study, we came up with a conclusion that Hot Moist Pack (HMP) was more effective in relieving the pain in arthritic patients. However, regarding availability, patients considered garlic was much accessible. Hot Moist Pack (HMP) per se was a known superficial healing modality, on the other hand, garlic has also a superficial effect, but it has a more dangerous effect since it applied directly to the skin without any insulator.
