Abstract
The study employed a descriptive design using a survey technique. A self-made questionnaire distributed to 48 respondents at Sulpicio Shipping Lines in Manila through simple quota sampling. The written instruments were in Filipino for easy comprehensibility. The data from the questionnaires tallied, tabulated, and analyzed. Analyzed the data using percentage and standard deviation. Based on the results, the researchers concluded, (1) most of the respondents aged 36-40 years old and had been 10 years and below working experience. (2) Fifty-eight point three percent (58.3%) or 28 of the porters had low back pain, (3) all respondents showed negative on leg length discrepancy, pelvic obliquity, and abnormality of the spine. (4) Respondents described the pain as stinging, lasting for 30 minutes and an episode of once a day for three (3) times a week.
