Abstract
The study conducted at the University of the East Manila, each level consist of 12 players with a total of 48 varsity players came. The study covered a recent occurrence of injury from the respondents, the treatment of injuries including knowledge of Physical Therapy dealing with injuries. A questionnaire distributed to the respondents, the results gathered, tabulated and analyzed for framing the needed information for the study. The chosen respondents train regularly, selected from the first year of residency to senior years at the University. The study to determine the level of awareness of the athletes on the treatment of common sports injuries through physical therapy. Besides, to know the injuries and the level of their knowledge, treatment applied by the respondents. The respondents were aware of the procedures of physical therapy, in fact, the existence of such, as a way of treating injuries. It was not that popular with the players and coaches, but the type of injuries was sprain, contusion, and strain. The insufficiency of knowledge, the fact that medical attendance and medication were very costly and that they inconveniently found, not to mention the reasons for ignorance and convenience made this form of treatment unpopular. Proper inculcations used to promote the value of this profession. Small injuries, not properly attended, can lead to an impairment of ineffective playing.
