Abstract
This study used a survey on different types of pulmonary conditions admitted at DLSUMC from January to December 1990. It aimed to determine the different types of pulmonary cases admitted at the hospital. To determine the total number of patients with pulmonary problems and how many of them referred to the rehabilitation department. The descriptive study used to determine the medical records of the patients gathered and reviewed. Results revealed that bronchopneumonia has the highest number of patients, followed by bronchial asthma. Patients under the age bracket of 1-5 years old commonly affected, and most of them were males. Most came from Dasmariñas, Cavite, belong to the low-economic group. Finally, the results showed that among these pulmonary patients only 3 referred to the rehabilitation department. The researchers, therefore, recommend that a regular case conference that will inform the physicians about the importance of Physical therapy in handling pulmonary patients and other diseases.
