Abstract
The study employed a descriptive design using a survey technique and self-made questionnaires distributed to 105 respondents. The female respondents' ages 18-20 years old at De La Salle University - Emilio Aguinaldo College and chose simple quota sampling. The gathered data from questionnaires tallied, tabulated, and analyzed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Physical characteristics as weight and height proved to be a major factor that influences the grip strength values of females ages 18-20 and determine if these values were comparable to norms' currently used for interpretation. Standard procedures based on foreign studies used in obtaining the grip strength values. The results of this study showed the average grip strength value of the 18-year-old age group has an average strength of grip value of 11.78 kilograms. The difference showed the need to establish grip strength norms for Filipino females based on a large population would give a more comprehensive and accurate standard value of grip strength for females.
