Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of low back pain (LBP) among employees of Baird Outerwear Brands in Anabu II-C , Imus , Cavite. the population included 100 employees where 40 are males and 60 are females. A questionnaire was given to each subjects and a brief physical examination , which consists of Special Tests, was done thereafter. results showed that there is a 33.33% prevalence state of low back pain among the employees of baird Outerwear Brands in Anabu II-E, Imus, Cavite: where 66.23% are females as compared to males (33.77%). 77% are found to have symptomatic type of LBP, which occur between the ages of 30-34, 35-39 and 40 and above, respectively. Sitting is found to be the most common position assumed during duty with lumbar strain as the most possible factor causing such pains. Only 6 out of 77 employees with symptomatic low back pain sought consultation to a physician and/ physical therapist. Recommendations given include conduction of further studies regarding the prevalence of LBP in the industrial set-up; distribution of pamphlets containing information about LBP; conduction of health-education seminars to different factories in Cavite incorporated during the interns' CORP decking and distribution of documentary tape and posters about LBP and its home-exercise remedies.
