Abstract
This was a study on the prevalence of shoulder injuries among tennis players in 3 different rehabilitation centers namely Paranaque Rehab Center, Pain & Rehab Care SM Megamall and Pain % Sports Care Celebrity Sports Plaza. The purpose of the study was to have knowledge regarding the common injuries implicted in the shoulder region which affects an individuals functional performance. The objectives were to determine the most common shoulder injury among tennis players age, sex, and gender prediliction and contributing factors. Review of records was utilized to obtain secondary data, through letter of permission was not granted. A total of 72 tennis players were included in the study. Findings show that rotator cuff tendinitis was the most common injury inflicted among tennis players. Males were affected more than females and with the mean age of occurrence at 40 y/o. The results of the study show that there were many contributory factors in the occurrence of shoulder injuries of such as duration, frequency and length of playing time, though its prevalence was relatively low.
