Abstract
The study aimed to determine the knowledge among community dwelling senior citizens on Pulong Bunga, Silang, Cavite regarding causes of fall, to determine the Sociodemofraphic Data as to age, sex, civil status % educational attainment and to determine their medical profile as to history of fall and present clinical condition. The study has been conducted on respective houses of all senior citizens in Pulang Bunga, Silang , Cavite. Guided and the results have been compared and analyzed using tables. It was found that community-dwelling senior citizens are knowledgeable in cause of fall regardless of sociodemographic data and almost 2/3 of the population have history of all. Knowledge is not a basis in fall preventation but rather other factors must be considered like awareness of caregivers in preventing fall considering the normal decline of body systems of elderly, not only in terms of strength but aspect like memory and special senses.
