Abstract
This study made us of a descriptive type of research and it is about the architectural design of the Philippine National School for the Blind (PNSB) as to its design and features of certain buildings inside the school particularly the High School Building, kitchen, library and walkway and how it is compared Accessibility Law. It aims to answer the question: Did the architectural design of PNSB meet the standards criteria set by the Philippine Accessibility Law? As a results, some of the design and features of the building met the criteria but most of it have failed to meet the standard requirments like putting non-skid material, slanted nosing and some specific measurements of each door as well as the floor. The researchers concluded that the architectural design of PNSB's high school building main entrance, doors, corridors and switches; kitchens main entrance, doors and switches; library's doors and the walkways were consistents with the architectural design according th Accessibilikty Law. However, there were specific areas that failed to meet the standard requirements which are the following: washroom and toilets in the Elementary building and kitchen area, main entrance and switches in the library, ramps and stairs in the High school building so simple and less expensive ways of modifications of the building were recommended by the researchers such as putting on ruber mats on slippery areas like the walkway or a wooden wedge to be used a ramp. These modifications are needed so that the blind students will be more comfortable in their place of studies and will not worry to roam around the campus.
