Abstract

To determine the relationship between ergonomic awareness and musculoskeletal discomfort, further objectives are aimed at studying the differences of the variables based on our demographics. Participants consist of 409 students across colleges in DLSMSHSI AY 2023-2024, aged between 18 and 26, currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, without physical medical conditions, and not currently availing therapy services. A three-part online questionnaire comprising demographics, a modified Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaire (CMDQ), and an ergonomic awareness questionnaire was provided. The correlation between ergonomic awareness and musculoskeletal discomfort is observed to be not statistically significant (ρ = -0.014, p = 0.774). Though a link between ergonomic awareness and musculoskeletal discomfort exists, their correlation is deemed not statistically significant. The musculoskeletal discomfort among 1st to 3rd year students resulted in mild/slight discomfort.
