Abstract
This is a quasi-experimental post-test design study that deals on the effectivity of the volatile oil of guava and avocado in the treatment of scabies among children (1-6 years) of Bayanan, Bacoor, Cavite and Tanzang-Luma, Imus, Cavite. Specifically this study aimed to answer the questions: 1. Is there a significant differences in the length of healing time of guava and avocado oil among two groups of subjects? 2. is there a significant relationship between the occurrence of scabies and the length of time of healing of guava and avocado oil? 3. What is the effect of the application of the oil of guava and avocado in the healing process of scabies? The study revealed that there is no significant difference on the length of haling time of guava oil and avocado oil in the treatment of scabies. Guava oil cured scabies within 6-14 days and avocado oil within 8-11 days. Both oil are effective in the treatment of scabies. Furthermore, the length of time the scabies had occurred does not affect the healing time. Itchiness is the only side-effect that was noted.
