Abstract
This study specifically it aimed the following: 1. To determine the top five least preferred areas of elective of fourth year nursing students of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo. 2. To determine the main reasons of the fourth year nursing students for not choosing Obstetric Ward, Medical Ward, Psyhiatric Nursing, Industrial Nursing and Community Health Nursing. 3. To determine the significant difference of the reasons of fourth year nursing students regarding their choice of least preferred area of elective when they were grouped according to sex and number of items of exposure. Questionnaires were constructed and distributed to the 101 fourth year nursing students who had chosen the top five least preferred area of elective. For the purpose of data gathering, answered instruments were checked, tallied and analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis One Way Analysis of Variance by rank. Based on the findings the researchers concluded that there is no significant differences among the reasons of fourth year nursing students when they were grouped according to sex and number of times exposure. Only in medical ward showed of difference in terms of exposure.
