Abstract
This study aims to determine the level of awareness of the health care planning team regarding Patients' rights. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status, religion, and role in the health care planning team? 2. What is the level of awareness of the health care planning team regarding patients' rights? 3. Is there a significant difference on the level of awareness of the hea. lth care planning team regarding patients' rights when grouped according to age, gender, civil status, religion, and role in the health care? The study focused on the level of awareness of the health care planning team regarding patient's rights. The rights were classified into the Right to Medical Care, Information, Privacy, Freedom of Choice and Seek Redress. The total population of the respondents was 136, composed of 63 health care professionals and 73 patients from the De La Salle University Medical Center. The research respondent was given a questionnaire and was collected the same day they were given. The main statistical treatments used in the study were frequency, percentage, mean, F-test, and t-test. From the presented data, the following findings were deduced in the order of questions asked at the outset of this study. 1. Most of the respondents of the study belonged to the 20-40 years old age group with 73%, female 62%, married 51%, Catholic 82%, and patients 54%. 2. The level of awareness of the health care planning team regarding patients' rights was aware to a great extent. 3. There is no significant difference in the level of awareness regarding patients' rights as perceived by the health care planning team when grouped according to age, civil status, gender and role in the health care planning team. However, there is a significant difference on the level of awareness regarding patients' rights as perceived by the health care planning team when grouped according to religion.
