Abstract

This study utilized a descriptive study. The respondents of the study involved the 60 BSN students Batch 2002 studying at the De La Salle University – Health Sciences Campus College of Nursing and Midwifery. The main tool that was utilized in the study was the information sheet of the Grade Point Average (GPA) of the BSN Batch 2002 from the 3rd year-4th year. The statistical treatment used in the study were frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, and f-test. 1) The profile of the respondents shows that 75% of the respondents were female, 68% were of personal choice, 88% were board examination passers, and 48.3% had monthly income of 20,000- 30,000; 2) The level of performance of the respondents shows that 66.7% were good or had a grade ranging from 85-88 based on the Student Handbook of the De La Salle University – Health Sciences Campus; 3) There was no significant difference in the level of performance of student nurses batch 2002 even with the implementation of the AHSE curriculum when these respondents were grouped according to gender (F-ratio of 2.06 at 5% level of significance and the tabular F-ratio of 1.27 with 25 degrees of freedom) socio-economic status (F-ratio of 2.77 at 5% level of significance and the tabular F-ratio 1.29 with 3 and 56 degrees of freedom) choice of course (F-ratio of 2.00at 5% level of significance and the tabular F-ratio of -0.33 with 58 degrees of freedom) and board examination results (F-ratio 2.36 at 5% level of significance and the tabular F-ratio of .38 with 7 degrees of freedom).
