Abstract

This study utilized non-experimental descriptive type of research using quantitative analytical method. The study included 40 diabetic patients in De La Salle University Medical Center, both male and female with age ranging 18 to 65 years old and above. Purposive sampling was used to identify the respondents. A tool made by the researchers was utilized based on the literatures of the study. Data was analysed using percentage distribution, mean, t-test, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Most of the patients were 35 to 64 years, female, high school graduate, and have family income of Php10,000 below. Knowledge on insulin administration of the patients was high. Practices on insulin administration of the patients were very good. The knowledge on administration of insulin among diabetes mellitus patients of De La Salle University Medical Center were the same regardless of age, gender, educational attainment, and monthly family income. Educational attainment affected the practices on administration of insulin among diabetes mellitus patients of De La Salle University Medical Center. However, age, gender and monthly family income did not affect the practices on administration of insulin among the patients.
