Abstract

The descriptive research method was utilized in this study. A total of 100 male nursing students of DLSU-HSC were randomly selected. A self-made questionnaire was used as the main tool for data gathering procedure. The statistical treatments applied were frequency, percentage, mean, F test and post hoc analysis. The findings of this study were the following: 1.) From the profile of 100 male nursing students, 28% were in the youngest position, 29% were in the middle position, and 43% fell under the eldest bracket. A high percentage of 83% was Roman Catholic, and the remaining 17% of male student nurses was from different religion categorized as non-Catholic; 2.) The perception of male nursing students regarding nursing as their future profession with the computed mean of 2.4056 showed a “very good” perception. They were homogenous in terms of perception of male nursing students regarding nursing as their chosen future profession; 3.) The perception of male nursing students regarding nursing as their future profession when grouped according to age had a p-value of 0.325 which has significant difference in regards to male nursing student’s perception about nursing as their chosen future profession.
