Abstract
This study sought to determine the degree of relationship between pre-operative counseling and recovery of surgical patients who had undergone cesarean section and whether the recovery of patients correlate when they are grouped in terms of age, civil status, educational attainment, monthly family income and for surgery. The respondent's profile showed that: out of 30 respondents, 15 respondents from the control group belonged to the young adult stage ages 26 to 40 years old equality comprising 7 or 47%; 9 or 60% were married, 11 or 73% were non- college, 11 or 73% has an income to below P20, 000 per month and 9 or 60% had cesarean section due to fetal factor. On the other hand, out of 15 respondents from the experimental group 11 or 73% belonged to the young adult group ages 26 to 40; 12 or 80% were married; 8 or 53% were non-college graduates; 11 or 73% had an income to below P20,000 per month and 10 67% had cesarean section due to maternal factor.It was also found out that there is no correlation between pre-operative counseling ad recovery of the respondents 4 hours post-cesarean section, a high correlation, marked relationship 24 hours postoperative and moderately strong correlation; substantial relationship 48 hours post cesarean section. There is a significant relationship between pre-operative counseling and recovery of patient. Accordingly, civil status, monthly family income and indication for surgery are the predictors of the recovery of surgical patients who had undergone cesarean section when grouped according to age, civil status, educational attainment monthly family income and indication for surgery.
