Abstract
This study aims To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of gender, age, employment status, and monthly family income. 2. To determine the level of acceptance of selected parents with autistic children in Las Piñas City. 3. To determine if there are significant difference in the level of acceptance of selected parents with autistic children in Las Piñas City when they are group according to gender, age, employment status, and monthly family income. The study was conducted in selected institutions in Las Piñas City namely: Happy and Organized Person through Education (HOPE), Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), and Skyview Learning Center. The respondents of the study were 30 parents with an autistic child. When the respondents were grouped according to gender, age, employment status, and monthly family income, out of the thirty (3) respondents, twenty-five (25) or 83% of the respondents were female, five (5) or 17% of them were male; seventeen (17) or 57% of them were below 40 years old and only thirteen (13) or 43% were above 40 years old; twenty-two (22) or 73% of them were employed and only eight (8) or 27% were unemployed; and nineteen (19) or 67% of them had a monthly income of above P30,000 and only eleven (11) or 33% of them has a monthly family income of below P30,000. 2. The level of acceptance of selected parents with autistic children in Las Piñas City in psycho-emotional and cognitive aspect was fully accepted with a computed mean of 4.36 and 4.70 respectively, while it was highly accepted in socio-cultural, economical, and physical aspects with a computed mean of 3.68, 4.07, and 3.74 respectively. The overall computed mean of 4.07 showed that it was highly accepted by selected parents with autistic children in Las Piñas City. 3. The level of acceptance of selected parents with autistics children in Las Piñas City when they are grouped according to gender, age, employment status, and monthly income showed no significant differences since the computed t-ration of 0.07, 1.02, 0.06, and 0.85 respectively. The computed t-ratios were lower than the tabulated t-ration of 1.70 at 0.05 level of significance using 29 degrees of freedom. Therefore, the hypothesis that no significant difference in the level of acceptance of selected parents with autistic children in Las Piñas according to gender, age, employment status, and monthly family income was accepted.
