Abstract
This study aims to determine the carative behavior of student nurses as perceived by the clients in DLSUMC and JPRHNMRC. B. To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status, educational attainment, monthly income and religion. 2. To determine the perception of client on the carative behaviors of student nurses in DLSUMC. 3. To determine the perception of client on the carative behaviors of student nurses in JPRHNMRC. 4. To determine if there is a significant difference in the perception of clients in DLSUMC and JPRHNMRC on the carative behavior of student nurses when they are grouped according to age, gender, civil status, educational attainment, monthly income and religion. 5. To determine if there is a significant difference on the perception of clients in DLSUMC and JPRHNMRC in the carative behavior of student nurses. This study comprised the perception of clients on the carative behavior of student nurses in De La Salle University Medical Center and Dr. Jose P. Rizal Hospital and National Medical Research Center. The following criteria were observed in choosing the respondents: a) they should be 18 years old and above; b) should be confined in the hospital for at least 2 days, to ensure that the clients already received continuous contact with the student nurses: c) should be willing to participate in the study; d) should be competent and cooperative to answer the questionnaire; e) should be able to understand Filipino of English, which is the medium of language used in the questionnaires, and f) should be handled by the third year nursing students of DLSHSC. Respondents of the study are patients in DLSUMC admitted in the 1300,1400, and of JPRHNMRC's 2nd floor, payward and third floor. The areas chosen are parts of the two hospitals where the 3rd year nursing students have their clinical duty. From the 100 respondents, majority were 26-45 and 46-66 years old, female, married, reached secondary level of education, catholic and havea monthly income of Php 10,000 and below. 2. In DLSUMC, the overall average of 4.4664 agreed that student nurses have a very good carative behavior. Majority of the respondents witnessed and experienced very good quality of nursing care service. The highest rating got 4.90 which was checking of vital signs regularly when needed. This means that majority of the respondents observed that student nurses are routinely checking their vital signs as a basis for medical and nursing management. 3. In JPRHNMRC, the overall average of 4.6376 strongly agreed that student nurses have a very good carative behavior. Majority of the respondents witnessed and experienced very good quality of nursing care service. The patients strongly agreed that student nurses give medications on time and got 5.00 fpr the reason that nurses are responsible for administering medications to the patient prescribed by the physician. 4. In DLSUMC, there was no significant difference in the perception of clients on the carative behavior of student nurses when grouped according to age, gender, civil status, educational attainment, monthly income and religion. Likewise, in JPRHNMRC, there was no significant difference in the perception of clients on the carative behavior of student nurses when grouped according to age, gender, monthly income, and religion. However, there was a significant difference when the clients were grouped according to civil status and educational attainment. 5. There was a significant difference in the perception of clients on the carative behaviors of student nurses in DLSUMC and JPHNMRC. It only showed that there is a higher level of perception on the carative behavior of the student nurses in JPRHNMRC (4.6376) than the patients of DLSUMC (4.4664).
