Abstract

This study utilizes a descriptive non-experimental research design and purposive sampling is applied. Modified-adapted questionnaire was subjected to testing of validity and reliability. The statistical treatments used were percentage distribution, mean, frequency, t-test and f-test (ANOVA). The study concluded that, 1) Most of the adult clients with hypothyroidism were within the age bracket of 20-30 and 41-50 years old, female, Catholic and had a monthly family income of Php10,000 and below; 2) The respondents have a low cognitive dysfunction; 3) There were no significant differences regarding the effects of hypothyroidism in the cognitive functions when the respondents were grouped according to age, gender, religion, educational attainment and monthly family income.
