Abstract
The study utilized a quantitative, non-experimental descriptive type of research. Purposive sampling was the technique used to select the 100 respondents with following criteria: mother of preschoolers, mentally capable to answer the questions and willing to participate in the study. The tool used in this study is a self-made questionnaire and validated by four (4) selected professors from the College of Nursing and School of Midwifery of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute, City of Dasmarinas, Cavite. Fifteen (15) selected mothers of preschoolers were asked to answer the questionnaire for pre-testing. Data was analyzed through percentage distribution, f-test (ANOVA) and mean. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents are 28 to 37 years old, married, college graduates, have monthly family income of P5,000 and below, and unemployed; 2) The respondents strongly agree that the nutritional status of preschoolers is affected by different factors; 3) There is no significant difference in the perception of mothers regarding the factors affecting the nutritional status when they are grouped according to age.
