Abstract

The descriptive survey method was used in this study. A questionnaire was developed by the researchers to gather data from the respondents. Personal interviews with the elderlies were conducted to find out if they were staying with their children. One (1) member from each household of 60 elderlies was taken to serve as respondent, totaling to 60 respondents. Purposive sampling technique was employed. The statistical measures used to analyze the data gathered were mean and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient r. The researchers concluded that: 1) There is a significant relation between the relationship of children with their parents and their attitude towards bringing their parents to an elderly institution; 2) There is a high significance in the relationship between the level of awareness of children regarding the elderly institution and their level of acceptance towards bringing their parents to an elderly institution.
