Abstract

This study utilized a descriptive research design. The total number of traffic enforcers were gathered from the Office of Dasmariñas Community Affairs (DASCA). Slovin’s formula was used to compute the sample size of 120 respondents among 172 enforcers selected using quota sampling. A self-made questionnaire that obtained the demographic data of the respondents and responses to statements pertaining to level of awareness was used. The data was analyzed using frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, ANOVA and t-test. The results of the study showed that, 1) The profile of respondents was primarily composed of male, aged 40-64 years old, married, reached high school, 6-10 years in service, assigned in main roads, scheduled in morning shift and had history of lung diseases such as common cough and colds; 2) The level of awareness of traffic enforcers on risk factors and preventive measures on pulmonary health problems was on high level; 3) There was no significant difference in the level of awareness on risk factors and preventive measures on pulmonary health problems among traffic enforcers when grouped according to age, gender, civil status, educational attainment, area of assignment, years of service, shifting schedule and history of lung disease.
