Abstract
This study aimed to assess the level of knowledge of Artificial Womb Technology (AWT) among second-year nursing students at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) during the Academic Year 2024-2025. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, gathering data from 191 randomly chosen students enrolled in NR-NUR 122 Maternal and Child Nursing 2. The Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) survey framework was utilized to evaluate students' knowledge on AWT, including its processes and ethical implications. The study also examined how gender, religion, and sources of information influenced students' level of knowledge on AWT. Most students showed a good level of knowledge about AWT, but some differences were seen based on their gender, religion, and the sources from which their information was obtained. The majority of the respondents obtained their information on AWT from websites and social media rather than academic references such as journals. While students were generally aware of AWT, many lacked an in-depth understanding of its mechanisms and ethical considerations. This study showed that traditional lectures did not change the students' understanding about AWT, indicating that their knowledge from AWT came mainly from them searching information on their own through online websites. The study also highlighted inconsistencies in formal education on AWT, as students had varying degrees of exposure to the topic. These findings underscore the role of digital platforms in shaping students' understanding of emerging medical technologies.
