Abstract
This study utilized a descriptive, non-experimental type of research. The study included 50 respondents who experienced acupuncture as a traditional method in relieving health problems using convenience and snowball sampling. A self-constructed survey type of questionnaire served as the main instrument in gathering the data. Data was analysed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, t-test, and f-test. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were obtained: (1) most of the respondents age were from 20-39 years old, female, college graduate, monthly income of Php 40,000-59,000 and Catholic; (2) the respondets perceived that acupuncture is most effective in relieving depression, difficulty in breathing and neck pain. However, acupuncture was perceived as least effective in anxiety, migraine and insomnia; (3) there were no significant difference on the effectiveness of acupuncture in relieving health problems of the respondents when grouped according to age, gender, educational attainment, religious affiliation except monthly income.
