Abstract
The study utilized a descriptive-analytical quantitative design to determine the challenges encountered by BSN Batch 2024 students during their first clinical exposure in the OR and to find out if there is a significant difference in the challenges encountered among BSN Batch 2024 students when they are grouped according to sex and hospital type of their OR exposure. Purposive sampling was used in the study. This study utilized a survey questionnaire that was adapted and modified. Data was analyzed through frequency distribution, percentage, weighted mean, standard deviation and t-test. From the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. Findings reveal that the majority of the respondents were female and had their first operating room exposure in a private hospital. 2. Findings reveal that the challenges encompassing the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains were all encountered by the respondents in their clinical exposure in the operating room. 3. Findings reveal that the DLSMHSI BSN Batch 2024 students similarly encountered challenges in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains regardless of their sex and according to the type of hospital of their OR exposure.
