Abstract

The study utilized a quantitative descriptive-analysis method with the respondents chosen through some inclusion criteria using purposive sampling. The research instrument utilized was a modified-adopted study using a four-point scale and consists of 20 items; 10 items for the challenges faced by the respondents in terms of aptitude and environmental factors, and 10 items for the opportunities faced by the respondents in terms of aptitude and environmental factors. The research tool was disseminated using Google Forms through Facebook Messenger of the respondents. The statistical treatments used are independent t-test, ANOVA, Mann Whitney U test, and Kruskal Wallis H Test. From the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. The profile of the respondents showed that the majority were from the College of Medical Laboratory Sciences, females, and had an academic type of scholarship. 2. The respondents at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute faced challenges and opportunities to a moderate extent. 3. Regardless of their type of scholarship, college affiliation and sex, the scholars face challenges and opportunities to a moderate extent.
