Abstract
A descriptive, non-experimental quantitative design was used in the study. Purposive sampling, particularly total population sampling, was utilized to determine the sample size. This research had 355 non-health related students from Cavite State University, Indang Cavite under the College of Engineering and Information Technology and College of Criminal Justice as the respondents. The study made use of survey questionnaires conducted through Google Forms. Data was analyzed through frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, median, Kruskall Wallis H Test, Mann Whitney U test and percentage. Effectively, the research study has established that students enrolled in non-health related courses perceive care rendered by nurses as of high to very high quality of care in terms of the five domains however for the overall perception, it is perceived as high quality of care. When grouped, the following show significant differences: (a) according to age: emotional domain and overall perception, (b) according to sex: physical domain, (c) according to type of hospital: Physical, emotional, mental and spiritual domains and overall perception. With that, the researchers conclude the following: 1) The hypothesis that there are no significant differences in perceptions of the students who are enrolled in non-health related courses on the quality of care provided by nurses when grouped according to age, sex, history of hospitalization and type of hospital was rejected.
