Abstract
This study utilized a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive research design. The number of respondents were 37 elderly clients aged 65-75 years old, with sound mind, coherent and participative, regardless of presence of acute and or chronic diseases and/or physical disabilities, available and willing to answer the questionnaire during data gathering. Respondents were selected using purposive or judgemental sampling. Data was analysed using frequency distribution, mean, t-test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Mann-Whitney test. Majority of the respondents were 70-75 years of age, single, reached elementary, female, and Catholic. The level of stress of elderly clients in selected geriatric institutions in Cavite had an average of 2.81 which indicated that the respondents experience moderate level of stress. There was no significant difference statistically on the level of stress of institutionalized elderly clients when grouped according to age, civil status, educational attainment, gender and religion.
