Abstract
This study is intended to: 1. Know the parents understanding about immunization regarding its importance, vaccines available, the age of children given, doses and frequency. 2. To determine the problems encountered by parents in the immunizations activity. Based on the following data gathered, the following were the findings. 1. The result of this study showed that majority of the parents understand immunization as a protection from diseases, some understand that immunization increases and maintain body resistance and others understand immunization both protection from disease and increase and maintain body resistance. 2. With regards, the kinds of vaccines given as perceived by the respondents, majority perceived only DPT, some are DPT, BCG, OPV and anti-mealies only. 3. About the age of children given, they bring their children at the age of two weeks, some are at the age of one month. Regarding the doses and frequency, parents did not know the doses and majority of them did not know the frequency of the vaccines being given. 4. Parents differ with one another in their problems in immunization activity because majority of parents encountered fever, some encountered swelling and others, encountered convulsions. Based on the foregoing findings, the researcher drew the following conclusions: 1. People greatly differ in their understanding about immunization regarding its importance, vaccines available, age of children given, doses and frequency. Shows that the first hypothesis is accepted. 2. Parents greatly differ with one another in their problem in immunization activity, second hypothesis is again accepted.
