Abstract
This study aims to determine and identify what are the nursing management employed by Andres Bonifacio Mental Hospital on the maladaptive behavior or patients and if it effective in meeting the different kind of behaviors stated in this study. Specifically, the researcher want to determine what are the maladaptive behaviors exhibited by patients in psychiatric department and the nursing management use in managing the patients and if it is effective regardless of the kind of behavior they have. Based on the data gathered, the researcher found out that the nursing management employed such as encourage patient to verbalize feelings, leaving the patients alone, reporting to the physician, enforce punishment and isolating were all effective on the maladaptive behaviors that they met such as destructive behaviors, hostile and verbal abuse behaviors, uncooperativeness, withdrawn behavior, suicidal behavior and aggressive behavior. Based on the findings it can be concluded that the nursing management they employed on the maladaptive behavior of the patient were effective.
